Child Discipline
When I was younger and I did something bad, my mama would go and get the belt and tear me up because what I did was wrong and that was how she was letting me know. Timeouts? Naw, didn't get that. A good yelling at? Yeah I got that, but I also got my tail whooped too just so I would know not to do it again or I would get worse.
Nowadays it seems as if ppl have shunned child discipline. No one wants to beat their kids anymore. WHY? Spare the rod and spoil the child. Isn't that how the saying goes?
I mean come on, we all got at least one spanking, beating, whooping, beatdown, or whatever you want to call it back our heyday, so why so much controversy about it now. I remember growing up in the pjs and if you was in the street doing something you had no business doing, our parents would come right out in that street and whoop you in front of your friends and act like it was nothing. You would cry, your friends would laugh and you would be shamed, but at the end of the day, you still had love for your parents and all was well.
So what is the deal today? What do you guys think? Let me know.
